Shay #5 Survives Today

Shay #5 survives today, althougth not in running condition. It's stored safely at Clark's Trading Post, in Lincoln, home of the White Mountain Centrall Rairoad.

Shay #2 Wrecked

This photo, taken from Parker's Ledge, shows most of the buildings in the complex. The Woodstock covered bridge, destroyed by arson is the center right. the boarding house and company store are near the bridge. The stable is at the bend in the road. The log pond is at the left, and the mill buildings are in the center. The foundations of several of these buildings remain today. Martin Brown family collection.

A good view of the loading platforms. Three or four railroad tracks were between these platforms, allowing for loading of multiple freight cars. Foundations for some of these platforms remain in the woods today.

McNorton Falls Was the Original Name of the Falls

Post card identified as McNorton Falls. the name also appears on some early maps af the area. The houses at the back leftside of the photo were removed when Interstate 93 was built.
